Somewhat on a whim, we decided to go up Hobble Creek Canyon to camp with April and Bill. We left on Saturday morning and drove up Hobble Creek looking for a good campsite. We checked out the first campground (Cherry) and found it had some good spots opened, but we decided to keep going up the canyon. Before you know it, we're driving WAY up there somewhere between Springville and close to Strawberry reservoir. We end up continuing our drive and end up in Spanish Fork canyon. Being that we didn't really see a site we wanted, we decided to just go back through Mapleton and up Hobble Creek Canyon to the first campground (Cherry). So basically we did a loop.
It was actually quite fun for me. I LOVE taking drives and exploring and seeing places that I could consider for future hikes or future campsites. I know Alene doesn't like it as much though, so long as she is allowed to stop every once in a while and get out and hike around. It's all good.
Anyway, we set up our campsite and chilled a bit to wait for it to be a bit cooler before we started our hike up Days Canyon. Bill and April had hiked it a few years ago. Bill actually told us a story about a friend of his that lived up in that canyon in a tent all summer long. He was hunting and just spent every day up there. The dude must have been pretty hard-core.
After hiking we went back to camp and had some dinner and just chilled the rest of the night. Bill took some cool pictures with his camera of Caiden, Alene, and other great pictures from the hike (he has a good camera). Check them out HERE. Here are a few of Caiden that I liked:
Here are some other pictures of our hike. Click HERE for the whole album.
